Content Management System
What is CMS and do I need it?
The basic function of a CMS is to provide non-technical website users the ability to edit the content shown on a website. This editing functionality can be as simple as text-only editing and can be sophisticated enough to allow user the ability to create new pages or upload images or applications.
The simpleset way to determine if you need a CMS solution is to work out how you intend on using your website.
If you will need to update your content on a regular basis, a CMS will remove Web consultancy fees, as you will have the understanding and training to update your own content.
It is very important that training and support be provided as part of your solution.
Overall a CMS Website will have a higher initial cost but a lower long term cost. A website designed without a CMS will have a much lower setup cost, but the ongoing cost of updating content can quickly accumilate.
